How do solar panels work
If you look at the stats you’ll be shocked at what you’ll see with the overuse if fossil fuels. Natural gas, oil, and Coal are the most popular fossil fuels that are used and demand nearly 95% of the world’s energy. We also rely on these fuels to provide most of our electrical energy. That’s why we need to find alternative energy options like Solar Power.
The costs for these natural fuels like coal and gas are reaching levels of unsustainability and most people are merely meeting the costs and breaking their bank accounts pay for this energy, so it’s a no brainer that people are looking to solar power to provide electricity. Solar power can be provided by learning how to build solar panels.
What is a solar panel?
Is basically any panel that uses sun rays to produce electricity , these panels contain solar cells that and conceal in a plywood frame that is concealed by sheets of glass that capture sun beams to convert into electricity.
How do solar panels work?
Solar panels consist of a series if solar cells that are aligned on some back frame or plywood. The Solar cells themselves when receiving the sun’s rays convert the beams into usable electricity. Solar cells are made from silicon that is essential to the conversion of raw sunlight to electricity.
To explain in further detail when the sun’s rays make contact with the solar cells the sunlight in transformed into electric energy. But this is not the total process as the raw electricity needs a positive charge to make it into usable power. To create a positive charge the silicon contained in the solar cells needs to be mixed with another element that can make three additional electrons e.g. boron. However there’s still space left for another electron that basically creates to positive charge.
Last element actually comes from the sunlight itself. Sunlight contains properties that create electricity like photons, if these photon particles (as they’re more commonly known as) make contain with the solar cells it causes some extra electrons to be knocked off their paths. As a result of this reaction electric fields are emitted within the solar cells and lure other available electrons into a current that is also mixed with the silicon and boron combination. This fusion of elements generates electricity.
In order to produce more electricity more solar cells are needed - so the bigger the better! To maximise the output of electricity from solar panels its better to place the solar cells directly under sunlight - so the roof would be a great place. Be sure to keep your panels away from other buildings, trees and any other type of barrier to prevent shadowing effects and limited the power capacity of the Solar Panels.
Other techniques to harness more electricity from your solar panels is having a rotator stand thus allowing you to follow the sun’s direction and getting the maximum amount of sunlight to produce power all day. Also having a flat roof helps as it makes it easier for you to adjust and position your panels to get the most out of the sunlight.
People are taking matters into their own hands and are building their own solar panels for their homes and businesses by using guides that can teach them step by step how to create solar power panels that can produce enough power to get their homes off the grid.
